Prayer for the Primary Sunday

May 2, 2010

Dear Faith & Family,

The time is short and the need is great!

Please take the time watch this powerful brief challenge from Pastor Paul Caughill ( Sam’s Pastor) and pass it on to as many persons as possible.

Then join us in this critical time for “Prayer for the Primary Sunday,” May 16.

Prayer Requests:
1. Honor and Integrity be restored to our Government.
2. The Governor’s office would be a platform for truth.
3. God would bless our Commonwealth again.
4. Persons of faith would take seriously their responsibility to vote.

The power of crying out to God is beyond our comprehension. Please do all that you can to promote this event.
Expect great things from our GREAT GOD!

Keep Looking Up.

Winning an Election with Facebook FANs

April 27, 2010

What a title for a blog entry and what kind of strategy is this?

Consider the following challenge.

Currently Sam Rohrer has a little over 5,000 fans.  Let’s say that at 100 per day, he will have 7,000 FANs by the week-end prior to the election.  Of these 7,000, we need to take 2,000 away because they are too young, out of state and/or not serious enough to take this challenge.  This leaves a balance of around 5,000.

We will likely need 500,000 people to win the primary election.  What a task we have ahead of us!  Now I know there are others out there who are Sam supporters who are not Facebook FANs, but let’s take this challenge anyway and lock things up.  Each of us must get only 100 people to make this happen.

Yesterday, my wife and I were out and we ran into two of her cousins at separate places.  Of course we challenged them to vote for Sam and both said “Sam who?”  Both couples were registered Republicans and both couples were “under the radar” types that never vote in primaries.  When the pollsters contact people, they are not on the list.  When they heard of what Sam the Man was all about, they were sold, as are most people.  Okay, that gives me 4 more added to my list of converts.  I am embarrassed to say I probably only have about 20 so far and I should have many more.

The challenge:  think about who is a possibility, likely registered Republican family, friend or acquaintance and give them a call, stop by or send them an email.  Encourage them to watch the Leadership Conference video and/or send them a Faith and Family brochure printed off the web site.  Keep a list of those you contacted and give them a call the day before the primary.

Now don’t be bashful or shy! The cause has never been greater and the time is slipping by.  Work like it all depends on you.

Does this sound like a plan or what?

Keep Looking Up!

The Faith & Freedom Institute for Sam Rohrer

April 22, 2010

April 22, 2010

Dear Pastor:

Greetings to you from the office of THE FAITH AND FREEDOM INSTITUTE here in Altoona. I trust you are seeing the blessing of God on your ministry in a great way these days.

Speaking about “these days,” there are some interesting things taking place in America and even in Pennsylvania that should motivate each of us to preach the Word of God without compromise and pray without ceasing like never before. I am sure you agree with me that it is the Word of God that will change lives and prayer that will enable us to see God work.

In Pennsylvania we are facing a primary election in May that will be instrumental in placing a new governor in Harrisburg. Over the past months, I have come to know and appreciate one man of moral, spiritual and political integrity who is running for the highest elected position in our Commonwealth, and his name is Sam Rohrer. Sam is a dedicated Christian who is pro-life, pro-family, pro-religious freedom, pro-parental rights and has been one of the leading voices for constitutional government Pennsylvania. I firmly believe Sam would work hard to effectively reverse the “culture of corruption” that has been thriving in Harrisburg for years.

I understand the restrictions you have as a pastor when it comes to endorsing a particular political candidate. When representing your church, you simply cannot endorse anyone. However, when speaking for yourself as an independent citizen, you may support anyone you wish. Therefore, I want to encourage you to consider getting to know Sam Rohrer.

Government is one of God’s three institutions, along with the family and the church. Therefore, as pastors I believe we are to do all we can before God to support those institutions and endeavor to bring biblical principles to bear upon each as we have the opportunity to do so. Sadly, and all too often, we seem to neglect doing so with the government.

When a committed Christian like Sam Rohrer is led of the Lord to run for office, I believe we have an obligation to pray for him, get to know him, and support him. That is why I am sending you this letter.

Enclosed is a fact sheet on Sam and if you would like to learn more about him I have a compact disk of his testimony that was given at the Faith Baptist Church of Altoona which you may receive upon request. Of course, you can also go to his website at www.samrohrer.org for further information.

Please give Sam Rohrer prayerful consideration, and then do what you feel free to do under the direction of the Lord in providing support and encouragement to him, his family and his campaign. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Sincerely Yours,

Dr. Gary G. Dull, President

Pastor’s Plea for Sam Rohrer

April 22, 2010

From: Pastor Stephen M. Coran
Jersey Shore

Fellow Pastors,

Recently, I attended a town hall meeting for gubernatorial candidate Sam Rohrer and was very thankful that I did. How refreshing it is to know that a man who has been in office for 17 years as a state Representative has not been contaminated by the political machine of Harrisburg. Known as the “conscience of the House,” Sam leads the way for true integrity in both his elected seat and in his personal life.

As a pastor, I would like to encourage other pastors and church leaders to become more involved in the political arena. I believe over half of the signers of the Constitution were pastors. As private citizens, our constitutional rights afford us the opportunity to not only support men and women we feel would best serve in public office, but also influence those we are in contact with every day with the expression of free speech. Choosing to become a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not make our rights any less valid. The government has turned biblical issues into political ones and threatens to silence those who work behind the pulpit. Remember, pastors, you are not behind the pulpit 24/7 and when you walk out the doors, you are still a private citizen with a voice. Fifty-three million babies would have loved to hear your voice; I know the ones taken today would have too. Take part and speak up for righteousness and truth.

Attempting to govern America’s pulpits is emboldening the church to speak up louder than ever before. Since the government has turned biblical issues into political ones and threatens to silence those working behind the pulpit, we must not stay silent any more. This is not an act to rebel against government, but a plea to respond to God and a cry to protect the Judeo-Christian values that formed our great nation.

Our Commonwealth is in need of Sam’s ideals and convictions and whatever we could do to assist him will be not only our honor, but also our constitutional right. I implore other pastors to consider learning more about this man and his view on both fiscal and social issues. Since activists have swayed politicians and lobbying groups turned what we know as absolute truth into a voting issue, it is time to elect a governor who will not only set the tone for the affairs in Pennsylvania, but also work diligently in bringing back the government to the people.

Serving the Savior,

Pastor Stephen M. Coran

A MOVEMENT TO RENEW PENNSYLVANIA

April 21, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

On September 26, 2009 an event took place at the Skyline Sports Complex on City Island, Harrisburg, PA.  Pastors from more than 50 Pennsylvania churches spoke to a crowd of over 2,000 during a 6 hour event praying for all of Pennsylvania’s government leaders. “PA Awake” was a call to God’s people to “Rediscover Pennsylvania’s Purpose.”

The event was based on the dream that God planted within William Penn that was to be planted in the land of Pennsylvania: “There may be room there for such a holy experiment, for the nations want a precedent, and my God will make it the seed of a nation, that an example may be set up to the nations, that we may do the thing that is truly wise and just.”

William Penn was the only colonizer who came to the New World to “love and serve” rather than to “conquer or pursue commercial interests.” As a young man, Penn was very devout. He had a revelation that God would give him the means to plant the seed of a nation. Pennsylvania is that seed. There has been a 350 year interruption but now we want to see that seed spread. Government should be a positive force, not a negative force. Our boundaries have been decreed for righteousness. This “seed of a nation” still lives.  The “key” of this Keystone State still fits.  The roots of this “Holy Experiment” are still throbbing with vitality.

On Tuesday, May 18th, Primary Election Day, we have an opportunity to vote for a Republican candidate for Governor, Sam Rohrer, a proven leader, a man who will act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before God. (Micah 6:8) As a State Representative for 17-years, Sam Rohrer’s record as a pro-family and fiscal conservative is unmatched.  From the fight to protect unborn life, defend traditional marriage, block gambling expansion and expand choice in education, he has been our voice in the Capitol.  He has never voted to increase our taxes, and has been the statewide leader in the fight to end school property taxes.  No other candidate for governor can match Sam’s record! Go to www.samrohrer.org for more information.

Please help elect SAM ROHRER

I am asking you to pray and forward this email to all of your friends and family who live in Pennsylvania and ask them to do the same. Inform members of your church that Sam Rohrer is running for Governor in the Primaries and remind them to go out and vote on Tuesday, May 18th, Primary Election Day. Go through your rolodex and make calls.

William Penn was a forerunner. It is now time to pass the baton to this generation.  Will you give it to Sam Rohrer to continue the race?

Looking For Great Things.

April 10, 2010

Work as though everything depends upon you.  Pray as though everything depends upon God.  We are coming down to the last few weeks of the campaign and both statements are true.  Our Commonwealth does not deserve a man like Sam.  The truth be known, we have been reaping what we deserve for many years and it is not going to change without a change of heart.  Where are you in your daily walk and prayer life?  Are you devastated by the sins of the land and discouraged over our leadership?  Following the principles of scripture, the only solution is a broken and a contrite heart crying out to God to save our land.  May we challenge you to set Mondays aside for the next six weeks to fast for a portion or all of the day.  Schedule specific times during the day to call out to God for His power to be shown in this campaign.  This will culminate on the day before the Primary.  Join the Facebook “Rohrer Prayer Team” and expect great things from our great God.

Sam Rohrer’s Video Response to the Health Care Bill

Rohrer Statement on House Passage of Health Care Bill

March 24, 2010

READING, PA – State Representative Sam Rohrer (R-Berks), issued the following statement today in response to the approval in the House of Representatives of President Obama’s healthcare overhaul bill:

“Last night the world watched the U.S. House of Representatives act with stunning disregard for the constitutional rights of every American, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  What passed under the rally call of civil rights and human dignity was in fact one of the strongest challenges to individual freedom in a generation.

In winning passage for the healthcare overhaul using every unsavory procedural tool, threat and backroom promise, they broke faith with their own pledge of openness and transparency.  But far worse than hollow campaign promises is the shame in knowing that public officials who knowingly violate their oath to defend the Constitution, commit an act far more injurious to the public trust than bowing to raw politics.

If and when President Obama signs this unconstitutional healthcare bill into law, the roadmap for Pennsylvania’s legal challenge is clear.  From the disintegration of the separation of powers between the state and federal government to the misapplication of the Commerce Clause to the lack of congressional authority to apply a direct tax on citizens, the Congress has given us an obvious framework to oppose this bad law.

As Pennsylvania’s Governor, I will use the powers of the office to defend the rights of every citizen to make private decisions, like the purchase of health insurance, for themselves. I will vigorously defend the responsibilities of our elected state legislative bodies, under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, to make decisions about aby restructuring of laws that regulate the conduct of health insurance companies and providers.  This is simply not the role or right of the federal government.

In my administration, I will never hesitate to defend the constitutional rights of every citizen.  This will be my first and highest priority.”

Sam Rohrer will discussed his views in greater detail on a live appearance on the “PCN Call-In Show” Monday evening at 7PM.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 22, 2010

Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party?

March 5, 2010

“Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?” – Ronald Reagan (1976)

Can we expect the GOP, given our past experience, to do a turn-around, rejecting the IOUs, deals and special interests, and do what is required to make the cuts and begin the healing process?  We know only one person that we can count on to tell the truth, one person who has been fighting this fight all along, one person who is beholding to only the people of Pennsylvania… that person is Sam Rohrer.

Isn’t it Time for the Truth?

February 28, 2010

Truth is important. Especially when it comes to faith. You’re not going to have faith in something if you don’t think it’s true.

Truth is needed in politics, too. Leaders need to know the truth of the situation the state is in and need to convey the truth of that to their constituents. Sam Rohrer is that kind of leader.

Have you been to any of his townhall meetings, or watched them online? On his “Truth Tour,” Sam has been going around the state telling you, the people of Pennsylvania, the truth about the state of our state’s economy. He isn’t sugarcoating anything, and he’s not exaggerating anything to scare you. He’s just telling it like it is.

But Sam doesn’t just leave you with the state of affairs now, but he tells you his plan to reform and improve our great commonwealth.

Sam is a man of principle and keeps his word. Isn’t it time for Pennsylvania to have a governor we can trust?

If you have not been to any of his Truth Tour events, please plan to attend one. Visit www.SamRohrer.org for more information.
